Discover the Future of Transportation in the Philippines: North-South Commuter Railway Project and First Airport Railway
The North-South Commuter Railway Project is a 148km railway system that will connect Pampanga, Bulacan, Laguna, and Metro Manila in the Philippines, with a capacity to serve 800,000 passengers daily upon completion. This project includes six railway stations, and the Clark International Airport will host the first Railway Airport Express in the country. The NSCR commuter trains can run at 120kph, and the Airport Express trains can reach a maximum speed of 160kph. This project is the most significant and most expensive railway project in Philippine history and is expected to feature business districts such as mixed-use and condominiums within each station. The Japanese government and the Asian Development Bank jointly fund this project, and it is part of the modernization plan for transit-oriented development in the Philippines. The project’s extension to New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, is also under consideration.
